Hi guys im a bit unclear on this

Ive just got a 3d tv (can confirm model latef if needed) its samsung

My pc has crossfire 2gb 6950 graphics cards, from what i have read 3D isnt crossfire supported yet

So what games can i play and what do i need to install? Is it a simple process?

Would bf3 work? Just want to try the telly out really , used the ps3 on it and that worked well but i guess the pc would be better graphics and framerate wise?

Thanks a lot

What you need is to download TriDef. That is the software that is required to render the image into 3D. You can download a trial version (trial lasts 14 days I think). Because you have got an AMD card you will be able to purchase the full version with a 50% discount ($24.99 which is around ~£15).

On the issue of Crossfire, I am unsure as I got rid of my CF set-up prior to getting my 3DTV. My tv is a passive Lg, and I assume yours is an active, so I am unsure how exactly to set up TriDef for your display, but it should be reasonably straightforward and they have a decent support forum as well if you encounter any problems.

If you decided to purchase, to enable the 50% discount you will need to download a small hardware detection program - run this while your graphics card is outputting to your 3D display as it will not detect the hardware if you have it outputting to a 2D display only (probably obvious, but I ran it 1st time and said my hardware was incompatible).

Wow thanks for that ill give the trial a shot! Do i use a normal hdmi cable or the 1.4 one that i have in my ps3

Also my tv is the type with glasses that are powered (i forget which is which)

Thanks for the link!

Do you use 3D yourself? Any games you recommend to try it with?

Just really starting with 3D myself as well mate, but so far I have only had a wee shot. Yes, your display is active which means you will be able to view full resolution 3D. But this might prove to be more costly in terms of performance, but you can lower settings etc. to compensate. Or there is an option in TriDef called power3D (I think that is what it is called) which isn't as costly. It is not as good a 3D mode as it does it in post processing, but less taxing.

Have only really tried a few games: Fifa 13, NFS The Run, Modern Warfare 3 and Super Street Fighter 4. Fifa was the best in terms of performance and maintained a steady 60fps. All the others showed a drop in frame rates, which is to be expected since the gpu is rendering 2 seperate scenes/ viewpoints per frame. MW3 was probably the most impressive in terms of visuals, displaying good pop out.

There are a number of settings to fiddle around with in TriDef and I am by no means an expert, but as I say everything is fairly self explanatory and the support forums are quite active and good.
