Hey OcUk,

Prob a n00b question but I really wanna know :o

I game on a desktop gaming rig.

However Im plannning on getting a gaming laptop so I can get my Far Cry, Skyrim etc. fix when travelling.

Can I log into Steam & UPlay (Ubisoft) on the new laptop...and download all my games on that too? It will also download my progression? It will sync with whats on desktop?

Thanks :)

Yep will work fine as long as cloud sync or whatever it is called is enabled.

If one of the computers logs in, in offline mode you can use both simultaneously. Me and my old man do this will newly released games.

Depending on your luck, you may need to play Steam with an internet connection 24/7 depending on whether the offline mode decides it wants to work or not. So if you buy anything through Steam (i.e Skyrim) you may want to crack the .exe on your laptop.

Thanks for that info guys :D

Great to know, I thought it was all tied to the machine you initially bought the games on. Nice to know I can cart them around. I hope Far Cry 3 works in offline?

This is the best part about Steam, you can log in on any machine and have your entire library there for you.

I believe far cry 3 requires the ubisoft launcher (Uplay) which I THINK logs in every time - no offline mode. I am happy to be proved wrong of course.

Note, even the STEAM version uses Uplay too.

Oh bummer :( I will disable the net later and try and fire it up to see what happens. Hopefully Uplay just grumbles that it cant sync to cloud but lets me play.
