Can I plug a PC usb keyboard and mouse into an X-Box

For e.g. Halo. I've been told USB ports are present in the back, but further googling appears to say that a keyboard's fine, but a mouse is a no-no.
 
Yes you can, XFPS i think its called. It's a unit you plug in, depends on what Xbox, 360 one is expensive, older version isn't.
 
No is the simple answer, yes through 3rd party peripherals is the more advanced answer. Whether they are worth it is another question entirely. I say no.
Keyboard you can plug in and use for typing.
 
Those addon controllers are crap. It's also an unfair advantage against those on a pad because if you was using a keyboard & mouse and it worked as normal the pad users would get owned.

I'm err, not very good with all the actions required for a fps using a joy pad. :p

I've had a quick gander at Halo and wondered if I could use my normal tools. It's not my machine so will use it sparingly if at all.

I see what you mean. The movement and accuracy's not bad, but it's nothing whatsoever compared to pc gamers. Heck I even managed a few kills lol!
 
I am good with a pad but compared to a mouse it is very inaccurate and smaller objects are a lot harder to hit precisely, but as everyone is using the same control method it works pretty well.
 
Consoles have a whole ton of aim assist on them so using the controller once you get going isn't that bad.
