can i plug third monitor into onboard VGA?

Hi there, i have a Nvidia GTX260, which only has 2 DVI's, I have a third monitor now, can i connect it to the PC via the motherboard VGA socket??. or is there any other way i can connect it? I need to get a resolution of 1440x900.

you could if you enable the on-board vga and install the drivers. As long as there is no conflict it should be ok..

Be aware, some motherboard automatically Disable onboard VGA when you add in a PCI-E card, so may not be an option, in which case you should look at buying a cheap NV card to stick in a second slot... if you have one?

dont have one XD, ill try the onboard socket see if it works. The reason being i want to play FPS games on either dual or triple monitors, but the cross hair is in the center, so gets split in 2, i.e not playable

You need ATI 5000 series for you to do that I'm afraid.
Not sure about the NVIDIA 400 series though...

edit: read somewhere that nvidia supposedly is planning to add support in new drivers. Not sure if implemented yet but I would imagine that the monitors must be from the same card as is the case with ATI.

the 400 series will do it but what your trying to do will not work on three screens because all the images will have to be rendered the same which means it all needs to come from one source ie. gfx card with 3 ports or a sli/crossfire then you'll have to get the UNOFFICAL drivers to work with it {forgot what there called though} to foul the pc into thinking its one large display and they all need to be the same size screens btw as i've tried to do this with 2x17" 4:3 and 22" 16:10 in the center but couldnt get it to work
