Can I push this badboy? - BFG 8800 GT OC2

Fellow l33t

I have a BFG 8800 GT OC2 fitted with a DuOrb cooler, which is idling at 38 celcius at present, When I up the clocks on the core, shader and memory within RT, and bench with ATI tool or a decent FPS, the screen just freezes and random gfx corruption appears. Now obviously this is expected, but the temps are well below, so it must be either the ram, as I have heard there are some limits clocking it.

Any way to overcome this, and perhaps ways to find the best clocks, without restarting the machin everytime lol suppose its just trial and error

Currently @ 675Mhz on the core. Thats the defautl for this pre-clocked card. Every game I run is restarting the rig  I have a feeling im going to have to underclock it for stablity, or its my power supply (500W Seasonic)

Is this a common fault with GT's atm?

if it's not running @ stock speeds correctly then you should send it in for RMA.

I doubt it's the PSU but if you have a multimeter handy it might be worth it to check the rails.

yea i got the same card, i thought u might have put it to like 750 or sum insanity.

return it !! get new 1, very unlikely to be faulty second time. and then you can OC it to around 720+ nicely
