Can I put my standard speaker in the wall?

It'll change the dispersion pattern a bit due to diffraction, but that shouldn't cause too many issues unless you're listening well off-axis.

The only real concerns would be how you intend to finish up to the speaker and what happens in the future if it needs to be repaired/replaced. I can't imagine it'll be so happy surrounded by wet plaster, and that might not help its longevity.

Surely you be better off just buying & fitting some proper in wall speakers with all the work it looks like your doing in that room/extension from that picture..

Not a big deal for a satellite like that, a full range speaker would exhibit a bump toward the low end though (assuming it had been designed with baffle step compensation at least).
