Can I put panniers on this bike?

Yes, but there's better bikes you can get for £250. If you're not bound to go outdoors for some reason, and if you have a decathlon near you, look at the turban 500.

+1 for the decathon bikes they are pretty good for the money. The downside is that there are not that many stores around the country.

Yes you should be able to. The mounts look to be there for panniers.

Go into a branch and have a look at the assembled bike, you should be able to pick up a rack off the shelf and hold it over the back end of the bike to see that it lines up.

If the mechanics in the shop are any good they should be able to recommend some panniers and even fit them for you if they have to build up a bike for you to fit panniers is no time at all compared to the bike build.

@VH the Turban 500 does look good however I have vouchers for GO, about half the price of said bike. Anything else from GO?

Even though you could put paniers, have personally never tried them on a bike with racing geometry and straight forks with little caster angle; have only used them on a touring bike which has more rake so more straight line stability - the bike feel/handling maybe fine though.
A panier for commuting/shopping is definitely more comfortable than a ruc-sac.

I think you guys mean Triban 500 and not Turban 500 lol :D

I would recommend looking at Hybrid bikes instead rather than road bikes, assuming you are getting the bike for travelling around city/town.
