So i have a 40" 4k TV in my bedroom on a Desk but ...

I was going to buy a gaming PC..
If i was to play counter strike:GO i don't wanna get motion sickness :D as i'll be sitting about 1ft away from the screen.
so is there an option in ALL games to reduce the viewing area size: IE- black border all the way around
the game, effectively shrinking the viewing size?

hope that makes sense.

also i'd be running the games at 1920X1080 as i'm only going for a GTX1060
so scaling will be down to the tv (panasonic) as to if they look decent ?

thanks.

1080p windowed mode is probably your best bet. You can still run your desktop at 4k then.no scaling to worry about

i thought that may be the option but frames take a hit in windowed mode, hmmmm.
think i'll just get a gaming laptop :)
The framerate you'll gain from running 1080p will massively outnumber anything you'd lose from windowed mode, the latter is going to have trivial impact.

you dont need windowed mode at all. just use 1:1 scaling, either on the tv or using the GPU driver. Then you can run games at a lower resolution and the desktop at native resolution.
