think my best bet is to take the psu to a pc shop, chuck him a few squid to compare my psu to a standard one, will sort it once and for all i guess

have just found out, that The Vostro 200 does not use a Dell proprietary power supply.

The Vostro 200 Mini Tower can use most generic standard ATX power supply units, with either a 24-pin or 20+4-pin main motherboard power connector, with or without the on/off switch.

but will still take to shop 2 compare to be 100%

went to local pc supply store, bought a 530wpsu only £30, and went straight in, with no issues, now have all connectors i need and can upgrade the gpu now

cheers

What brand is the PSU? Sometimes if it's a cheap brand then it usually cannot give the stated power.
tbh not really bothered, was more to see if it would fit more than anything, think its a taurus 530w, as long as it will power a average gpu then im happy, all i have atm is a crappy x1300, just tried tiger woods 2012, was shocking bad graphics, looked like a specy game :o

Looking at the specs no way that will power the 6770. Looking at the components, that thing will blow up if you add the 6770 to it, and possible taking out the rest of the system too. I highly suggest refunding that PSU as soon as possible and getting this PSU if you want a 6770. Never ever skimp out on a PSU. You would be risking your entire system if it goes wrong, and I would rather lose £50 instead of hundreds.

could u explain y it wont support a hd 6770? so i can explain wen go 4 refund

cheers guys, explained it to them and gona refund me, didnt really want to spend £50 tbh dont think i have it on me card, anything else slightly lower than £50 u guys cud recommend

i did say to the guy, if u can give me a letter to confirm this will run a 5770/6770 i would be happy. so if blew system, then i have come back, but i offered refund instead. but he did say they were running 6770 on test rigs with this psu:confused:

cheers again, now have to post in gpu section as ive been thrown by what reading on gpu, was gona be 6770, but read its just a 5770 rebranded, and a better choice would be a hd6790. im completely lost now:confused: lol

best is to look up reviews. the xx90's are usually dual GPUs. That means crossfire. But not that one :)

For the price, I'd get a GTX460, a or a 6870 bit it's a stretch budget-wise.

was looking at gtx 460 seems a pretty gd card, i have found Palit GeForce GTX 460 @ £90 same price as 6790, from looking at benchmarks it beats the 6790 in most, will my coolermaster gx550 support it?
what about bottleneck?
