I'm really picky with mice so I bought a Qpad 5K and a Roccat Kone to try them both in my hand and see which I prefer. I was hoping I could try them through the packaging without opening (Like shape of the plastic wrap). Unfortunately I can't really get a good grip lol. So I was wondering can I return a product if the packaging has been opened but the item is unused or after I open I can't return?

Can I return anyways if I don't want it say I haven't opened the mouse out of packaging? should have asked this before ordering maybe!

Distance Selling Regulations say you can return a product within 7 days of delivery for any reason you like.

Seller cannot charge a restocking fee, but can charge for return postage (if they're arranging it) if its in their terms and conditions.

Can I insist that consumers who cancel an order within the cancellation period return the goods as new or in their original packaging?

3.58 No. Consumers are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods while in their possession as discussed in paragraph 3.44. The DSRs allow consumers to examine goods they have ordered as they would in a shop. If that requires opening the packaging and trying out the goods then they have not breached their duty to take reasonable care of the goods. In these circumstances you cannot insist that consumers return the goods as new or in their original packaging.

You may ask consumers to return goods with the original packaging, but you cannot insist on this. In the case of goods such as earrings that have hygiene seals, you may require consumers to exercise reasonable care by not removing the seals when examining them.

Even if it has been opened?

Had this argument with retailers. Its packaging, not the product. Regs say you can try the product. You may get a retailer trying it on still.

Same thing with guarantees - they cant force you to keep the original box just for guarantee purposes.

Woohoo brilliant post pepp77. I opened the Qpad and I really really like it. Will open the Roccat but will be bery careful as I don't think the shape can beat the Qpad's I was just swayed by the lights/features when ordering.

I do feel a bit bad returning a product that has been opened but Spie is a lot richer than me so not that bad about it.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on the QPAD, was thinking of getting one myself, as I've also just got the QPAD MK80 with black keys, was looking at the mouse but was a little put off by the reports of it being exceptionally light, as I prefer to feel the mouse in my hand as it were
Howve you found it?

It is very light. But all that matters to me for a mouse is that it tracks well (and let's be honest all gaming mice do these days) and the shape. The shape allows me to grip it with my hand just purely naturally and hard and it just feels right. There is no finger touching the mouse pad like other mice I've had so that feels good too. I think it all depends how you hold your mouse but I like to grip my mouse with my whole hand and this allows me todo it. If you just gripped with fingers I don't think it would be the best mouse.

Luckily for you I have a set of scales. The Razer Deathadder (my old mouse) is 105grams. Qpad 5K is 110grams and Roccat Kone is 115grams (and it has weights you can add on also adding a extra 20grams).

So it's no different than any other modern mouse it seems.

The Logitechs are on the heavier side. The Xai is supposedly light as well. I like a light mouse.

So which one will it be? Qpad or Kone? :D I think both mice are great, but I do hope Roccat fixed their QC issues with the Kone.

I'm also a big fan of the ergonomics of the Qpad. The Kone ain't bad either tbh. Kone has more tweaks in the software, but I still prefer the Qpad. I have both, still have the Kone as (expensive) backup.

I really like both. And I heard about the issues with the Kone, the lights do look nice aswell. But think i'm going with the Qpad the shape is just perfect for me and it feels like a really solid well built mouse. And it looks really good in person aswell. Was really tempted to go with the Kone just because it looks soo good with the lights but the shape doesn't feel as good to me as the Qpad and the QC issues will always play in the back of my mind.
