Hi guys!

Quick queastion please. I have the DFi CFX3200 mobo with a sapphire X1800XT 256mb PCI-E. I also have a spare X1300 PCI-E kicking about.

Can I use both of these cards. The X1800XT for games, and the X1300 going to my plasma for movies. Ideally I'd like to be able to do both at the same time (playing a game on my computer monitor while the GF watches a movie on the plasma)

Cheers

I dont know if the ATI CCC allows it but on NV cards you can right click avi's and what not and select play on my TV. I used to run a dual graphics setup whilst at college with an nv 200 nvs for playing movies and a quadro for my animation work.

as long as your games use the correct card/have the options to slect which card to use then you will be fine.

Won't they conlfict?

Nope

Since Windows 98 Windows has supported multiple monitors via multiple graphics cards

Just plug it in, tell BIOS which card to initialise first, then boot windows. Enable the extra monitors on the extra card then install the drivers - it's pretty easy to do

no if you can run two cards it wont conflict. My old x800gto2 used to play nice with my onboard x300.i had 3 monitor and two tv outputs lol

Thanks for the help guys. Will I be able to have the X1800 on 1920x1200 and the X1300 at something different like 800x600 at the same time.

Yep

You can run each card at different resolutions. You can even run multiple outputs on the same card at different resolutions :)
