Can i run this monitor?

Hi I am thinking of updating my old HP 22" 1680X1050 monitor with either a Samsung SE510C 27" 1980X1080 or a BenQ GW2760HS LED VA monitor. (which is best?)My specs are quite old..
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W (slightly clocked)
Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler
Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
GeIL 4GB (4x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2
and a Radeon HD6950 Frozer 2Gb DDR5 Pci-e Craphics card
Question will I have the ability to run my games at the monitors natural resolution ? ... Thank You...
PS Games played Far Cry 3/4 ...Dirt 3...Sniper elite 3...War Thunder..

Wont be much different really, certainly your rig is going to be OK for 1080P though.

Thanks, I just want the extra real estate, and am assuming the larger screen size/pixel count will give me a similar picture quality.. Also the monitor is on offer for £179 on amazon but don't want to buy it I cant run it..
