Our LG 50" plasma has given up the ghost. We've had it repaired once and it cost around £300. Just been and bought one of the Sharp Aquos LED LCD's.

I need to get rid of the plasma now and was wondering whether these sell for spares or not?

EDIT : I don't want to use ebay.

you could use the members market? see if it gathers any attention.. though obviously its quite a niche spares item... maybe put it in the price check section first... i spose it is vaigly pc related.. since overclockers sell tv's...

its pretty good for selling stuff on, although with any auction site being a first time seller will be harder to get a great price, much better than ebay though, no commission, and even though there have been some known scammers, it's pretty safe...

I would echo the above, if you can at least tell the prospective buyers what's actually wrong with the tv then they might be in a better position to offer you something for it - assuming you do try to sell it.

What's the warranty like? Still got one or has it ended?

Well, first time it went there was a big 'POP' and it was back and forth to the repair place with bright white appearing pink. THis problem came back when the tele was turned on the first time every morning.

Today it just decided to give up the ghost. I wouldn't offer it to someone saying it can be repaired because the local tele shop couldn't manage it. Its purely for spares. Think its going to be worth just taking it down the tip.

Why not just sell it on ebay then? If you're not going to be making any money out of it anyway (taking it to the tip) you may as well just see if you can sell it to a dealer on ebay?
