can i send mobile phone via Royal mail?

The answer is yes, on domestic mail IE in the United Kingdom, International is allowed also. :)

I think the woman in my local post office is so damn rude, she asked me what was in a parcel I was sending (it was a DVD) and I said it doesnt contain any batteries or anything like that but she demanded to know what it was like exactly, its getting silly they never used to ask.

I think this is enough a reason to not use Royal Mail. Plus their prices can be very expensive compared to couriers.
 
i used special delivery to ship an iphone a few weeks back.

they asked if it had a battery, i said its built in. i believe its only a problem if the battery is loose with exposed terminals.

It's not rude, Lithium Ion batteries can be extremely dangerous in transit.
 
They now have to ask what you are sending, they are friendly in my local post office, my friends mum works there. As long as I don't post any sex toys I'll be fine lol.
