I've recently changed over to o2 for my broadband and at the moment I'm happily using the ugly white router they sent out to me....... problem is I also have a lovely Linksys WAG160N router thats only around 2 months old!!!

Not only does it look about a thousand times better (unfortunately it cant be hidden where my phone socket is) but it also supports wireless-N wheras my o2 one doesnt!!! :(

The problem is, o2 have sent me some settings to configure my router but have told me to leave a few fields (such as username and password etc) totally blank!?!?! I tried this last night and when I access the Linsys advanced settings and try to save the settings with these fields blank.....it tells me that they cant be left blank?!?!?!?

Has anyone out there managed to get their own router working with an o2 broadband connection since they dont seem to have usernames and passwords etc???

Many thanks guys.......

I'll try it tonight but surely it will then try and connect me to whatever I put in.....and then fail???

Any ideas if this doesnt work??

I use these for my Linksys WAG200G router.

* ISP name: O2 Home Broadband
* Multiplexing method: LLC-Based
* VPI: 0
* VCI: 101
* Username: leave blank
* Password: leave blank
* Domain name: leave blank
* IP address type: this depends on whether you chose our static IP address option or not:
* - If you didn’t choose O2's static IP address option, set this to dynamic IP
* - If you did choose O2's static IP address, enter the IP address printed in your welcome letter
* DNS servers: choose to get these dynamically from the Internet provider
* NAT: enable

You just change the Drop-Down menu at the top to RFC 1483 Bridge Mode. Username / Password fields disappear. Job Done :)
