Ive ran over my current 18month contract with 3. They have offered me a free upgrade online. You have to be in all day for the DHL delivery but i cant get the time off.

Wondering if any of you have walked into a 3 Shop for a straight upgrade/replacement. I puchased the original one on the three.co.uk website.

May go into down tomorrow.

As said, they dont offer the same deal in store as they do online or over the phone. Infact, my GF has a 'online only' contract deal that the three store said they simple couldnt deal with.

The best thing you can do in a Three store when your contract expires though is requesat a PAC code and leave.... in my opinion.

I've been with them for quite a few years now, and it's always been significantly cheaper than anywhere else for the sort of deal I was after, and the coverage where I spend most of my time (Bristol) is just fine. Bit flaky at home in Essex in the house, but most mobiles have that problem here bar O2 handsets it would seem.

To be honest, all the phone companies are pretty bad when it comes to service because of the competitive pricing. Just choose whichever has the deal you want imo.

I just rang up Three to try and get a good deal on an upgrade, quoting better contracts on Vodaphone and T-Mobile and she still kept on trying to get me on a £40/month contract (whereas I currently pay £28/month) :/ Humph.

Did you call upgrades or retentions?

You'll do a lot better with the latter.

I take it your like me. Three were great for simple cheap as hell call/text tarrifs. Got an N73 free from them on a £15 a month contract. But now I want a decent phone and unlimited data, Three are just way to far behind. And the way they charge monthy for the phones is rubbish too. an N95 costs you £9 a month regarless of wether you take a £15 or a £75 contract...

And dont even get me started on the customer service department.

my friend spend 6 years with T-mobile, now they give him a sim only contact with 600 mins for 10 pounds per month. I thought it is very good to discuss with your current network provider, to see if they think you are a valued customer

I got unlimited texts, unlimited data, unlimited 3 to 3, 200 mins and a Nokia E71 for £20 a month. Been very pleased with it so far, phone is great.

The exact same reasons why I left 3 when my contract ran out in December. About 18 months ago they were a good choice and were competing well on price aswell as phones, now they are just lagging so far behind the others!
