Can I upgrade iphone apps to Ipad2?

As title really. Got an iphone 4 with many apps. Just received my Ipad 2 today and some are for both whilst others only run in smaller lower res. Do I ahve to rebuy things I want on the ipad to make full use of the HD Res or is there an upgrade path or way to do it cheaper (preferrably free).

No you don't have to buy apps again, just log into your account and you will be fine. Some apps don't work full screen with the iPad and you may need the iPad app.

Yeah, got the apps, but I take it I have to re-buy them as their HD versions to be properly ipad friendly?

ie I have angry birds but in full screen looks terrible, I take it I would have to re-buy it as the hd version to make full use of the ipad?

Not all apps are like that. Some will support both the iPhone and the iPad at the appropriate resolutions. It just depends how greedy the developer is.
