Hi All

Happy new year to you all. First post so be kind :)

I currently have the following gaming PC which was built 10 years ago...

Gaming PC Intel Haswell Quad Core i7 4790k 4GHz 16GB Memory, 1TB had (SSD) GTX750 Ti 2GB
Asus H81M-P PLUS Motherboard

Would this be worth upgrading in any way?

or build another PC with way more memory ,a faster hard drive etc.
Current power supply is 500watt

Looking at these below if upgrade needed?

ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI AMD Ryzen AM5 ATX motherboard, 14 power stages, PCIe 5.0 M.2 support, DDR5 memory, WiFi 6 and 2.5 Gb Ethernet, USB4 support and Aura Sync

AMD Ryzensets 5 7600 Processor (radeon graphics integrated, 6 cores/12 threads, 65W TDP, AM5 Socket, 38MB cache, up to 5.1 GHz max boost, Wraith Stealth Cooler)

CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MHz CL30 AMD EXPO Intel XMP iCUE Compatible Computer Memory – Grey (CMH32GX5M2B6000Z30K)

ASUS GeForce RTX 4060 DUAL EVO 8G OC Gaming Graphics Card - 2535MHz Boost Clock, GDDR6X, PCIe Gen 4, DLSS 3, 3x DP v 1.4a, HDMI 2.1a (Supports 4K & 8K HDR)

Any advise would be appreciated..

@stevelovesun .

The 7600 will be a great upgrade motherboard, memory are good choices, if your PSU is 10 years old then it needs upgrading so you mite as well get a new case if budget allows.

What your budget and resolution your gaming at so we can spec you , selling your old stuff will offset the cost.

Hi and welcome.

Kindly remove the links as it's against the forum rules to link competitors.

Post the parts by name.

What model PSU is it and is it 10 years old ?
opps Sorry about the links..

Thank you for your reply

The power supply looks generic, with no brand labels, but it is a 500w and has had no issues at all with regular cleaning done.
This is also 10 years old

Budget £800 ?
i play The division 2 so 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, and can support up to 120 frames per second at least.
The graphics car I currently has installed works fine with this game.

yes the old gear should offset some of the cost.

7600 £168

Memory £100 but ould save upto £20 if your drop the RGB and slightly looser rimmings

Motherboard £145

4060 £254

So that leaves you £132 for new case ,m2and PSU.

ASUS GeForce RTX 4060 DUAL EVO 8G OC Gaming

So, is there no chance of upgrading the old PC, at least to slightly increase performance?
It's 10 years old so you will be leaving lots of performance behind but you could just upgrade the graphics card and see how it goes although the PSU concerns me .
