Can i use 16GB of ram on this board, is there any point?

For complicated reasons, I've ended up with 16GB of Teamgroup Red 2400MHz, 4x 4GB sticks. Not a quad set, just 2x 4GB x2 sets.

Have ordered a Gigabyte z97 g1.sniper. Should arrive tomorrow

Is there any point in using all of it, or am i better off sticking to my original plan of using 8Gb of it?

*it probably won't be a K series i5, can't really afford one.

Yeah bang em all in and just check in the BIOS they're running at XMP. No harm to be done running with 16GB

Edit: that board is wasted on a non-k by the way...

If i could afford a K chip right away i'd get one, it's either get what i can afford or wait 6 more weeks.....

wait and save for a k chip,its worth it,broadwell is so close aswell might be worth waiting for those cpu's??

either way now you have the ram use it all up,it all helps
