Quick question chaps, because I've never tried this before.
Currently I am dual booting between XP and Vista x32, which obviously reside in separate HD's. Now I want to try Vista x64 again, now that SP1 is out as I had issues with x64 when I last tried it.

I'm currently making a full image of x32 before I format it's partition and install x64. However it just occured to me that could I just install x64 on another partition and then triple boot? Hmm I guess my single license would be an issue...

The License will allow you to Install 64bit vista to the same PC as your 32bit vista provided its a dual booting install and not a vmware installation.

The licence says no such thing, did you just make that up?

Windows is licensed per copy per device. That means only one install.

what i'd do mate, is keep the 32 image handy, try 64 without activating (you get 30 days)

if after 2X days you find 64 is fine, then ditch the 32 image and activate 64, the only problems now with 64 are the odd niggly driver, unless you run any really old software

it's probably not legal, but it's hardly stealing imo (gets ready for a bashing)

Hmm I forgot about the 30day activation period. I'll probably take advantage of that then.

I moved to x64 a while back but had a few issues that saw me returning to x32. I'm hoping those issues may have cleared out. I'll have to keep XP though because I'm quite sure Canon haven't made x64 drivers yet for my two photo printers.

if u have one key/license then no u can't run both at the same, even if u don't activate it...

for the tripe boot question, it is posable to run 3 OS's. im running vista64, vista32, xp on different partitions on the same hdd.

Well in the end I overwrote my existing x32 install, having taken an image of it. Things have gone rather well for once, however my external firewire hard drives still weren't playing ball just like they did before. I ended up having to reconnect those with USB cables instead and it's all Ok now.

Only one program doesn't work and that is a 16bit disk catalogue program by the name of Catfish! I'll check the Canon webby tomorrow to see if there are x64 printer drivers available for my two printers. Cheers for the replies peeps.
