Hi.

Hi. My rams:

https://www.morele.net/pamiec-hyperx-fury-ddr4-2x8gb-2133mhz-cl14-hx421c14fb2k2-16-869008/

Currently are on Asus Z170-P motherb and 6700K. I am buying 8700K and Asus Tuf Z370 Pro Gaming.

I must buy faster new ram or not necessary ? I dont have much money and i must safe cash for mobo.

And why on intel specification is 2666mhz memory, look:

So this mean i will be have bootleneck?
So right now me having lower MHz ram than Intel actually recommends slows down the CPU or not really?

Your RAM will work just fine. Whilst it would be nice to have fast RAM there's no point dropping what you have. Better use the money on a faster graphics card or a nice SSD.

Its going to be slower but not enough to warrant selling your RAM and buying faster as the prices now are really bad.

As above the money can be used to get you a faster gfx card etc that will give a bigger gain than faster RAM will, if you're gaming that is.

I would certainly go for atleast 3000MHz RAM.

But now 3000Mhz RAM is the same price as 3200Mhz RAM, so I wouldnt even buy 3000MHz RAM now.

I take loan cash from bank to my new platform :) + cash from work on this month. Spended all money for all. Only rams go to 2666mhz not have cash :(

Its the max approved RAM speed from a bunch of people called JEDEC that create the specifications and standards for companys to make the stuff too (so everything should all work together no matter what the combination).

So any speed after that is considered an "overclock"

4 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR4 4000(O.C.)/3866(O.C.)/3733(O.C.)/3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3400(O.C.)/3333(O.C.)/3300(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/3000(O.C.)/2800(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory *

Thats the specs of the board you are after, see how everything after 2666 has "OC" next to it?

From where you take it ? This is for 8700k?

Doesnt really matter, you could have a 8700K with a crap memory controller (remember they are not made all the same) and it might struggle to run RAM faster than 3200MHz, or you could have a i5 8600K that is a good one and can run 4000MHz RAM.

Nothing is guaranted.

Hence why pro overclockers buy a load of CPUs and bin them to find good ones which they use.

Might not be as you are dropping to single channel operation rather than dual.

Honestly dude, 2666MHz isnt worth it from the 2133MHz which you already have.
