Can i use a higher ram speed?

I have an abit IN9 32X-MAX which is limited to 800mhz is there a way and if so which ram would i be able to use to get 1066? thanks in advance

I presume you mean the ram is running at 800MHz on the mobo? If your mobo supports faster RAM, and you currently have DDR2 6400 in, it would default automatically to 800MHz, and simply by installing faster RAM it will run it at 1066. Any DDR2 8500 would do.
On the other hand, if your mobo is limited to 800MHz you would have to O/C it to reach 1066. But why do you need it to run faster anyway? Normally the CPU is the thing you O/C!

sorry mate im just a bit of a newbie at this, the cpu is a 6850 quad extreme and is fine so just wondered what the best increases i can make are?

TBH I'm not familiar with the board or the CPU. Googling the board quickly it has a FSB of 1333MHz, only thing I've found on the RAM is listed support for DDR2 800 and below. Core 2 sockets are quad-pumped I believe so FSB/4 = 333MHz. RAM speed is 800/2 = 400MHz so you should be able to O/C your processor by 20% before needing to up the RAM speed (CPU and mobo-depending, if you ignore the multiplier and focus on the FSB).
Any increases you can make are specific to your components though, and your cooling, you might be able to take it up further, you might not get it that far. Only way you'll know is by trying.
Don't know if that helps you or not but I'm not really sure what you're trying to do!
