Can I use a router as a wireless access point

So another question I'm completely unsure about...

I use a BT Wifi hotspot, which requires me to login via a website. Thankfully once logged in it works fine.

Now obviously I have a few other wireless/wired devices, TV, XBOX, DS etc. I have an old router, is it possible for me to connect to the router (which is in the hall) via the internet connection that is on my PC and share that then round my room via a wireless router.

I don't think it will work, or how I would even go about it.

Any ideas?

I know how to share the internet connection, do it all the time with my laptop to my Xbox.

I guess its a case of giving it a bash, even not being wireless would be fine.

I.E Wireless to PC - wired to router then router to TV, PS3 and Xbox would be great.
