can i use a sata HD?

i've got an Abit NF7 standard and i want a new hard-drive... i see loads of drives have "sata" written next to them, should i avoid these drives?

I had a quick look here

and didnt find any mention of the board supporting SATA, so my guess is, unless your willing to buy a PCI serial ATA card, then you should avoid purchasing a SATA drive..........as you wont be able to use it.
