I seem to have misplaced my PS3 power cable - just moved house - and i have found a Sky box power cable. Would this work okay?
Can i use a Sky power cable for my PS3?

New Slim is figure 8 now (original is kettle/IEC).
Providing the amp rating is alright then I can't see a problem.

It powered up but the TV (old crt) couldn't seem to find the signal. Going to have to have a play around and get it all sorted. Cheers.

Question, if the PS3 is normally used for HDMI and i suddenly flick it to SCART, is there a different set-up process?
//edit "ok try this. turn the ps3 completly off and then put the scart cable in. now turn the main power switch in back to the on position and then press and hold the power button by the disk tray you will here the ps3 beeb, keep holding till you hear a second beeb. this should reset it to use whatever cables are in the system at the time it also may take a minute. if this doesn't work try e-mailing sony." <- will try this.
