Can I use my Audigy 2 without installing Creatives god awful drivers?

I'm using Win XP and Xubuntu. I just need to it work, no gaming or EAX is needed. 2.1 over 2.0 would be a bonus but not necessary.

Are there any 3rd party drivers that allow me to do this?
