I'm wondering if my 130 watt USB C power supply that came with my Dell laptop can be used to power a USB C dock for power delivery to my laptop, or will it fry the dock. The Dock is rated at 100 Watts. Not sure if the Power Supply can negotiate power amount with the dock or not?

Thanks for the reply. I thought as much, but just wanted to check, especially if anone had tried it.

I plugged the laptop USB C power supply into a mini-USB C powered monitor I have, and it worked fine with no problems, so I fine confident that it will work with the dock when it arrives tomorrow.

I've been using the dock for the last week and I've not had any problems powering it with my laptop charger, incase anyone else is wondering about the same thing.

Thanks to everyoine for the replies.

The dock is rated at 100 watts, so it would require a power supply with at least that much power output. Additionally, the power supply would need to be able to negotiate power amount with the dock in order to ensure that the dock is receiving the correct amount of power.
