Hello there, Because where I live I can only get 8meg broadband with absolutely shocking bad upload speeds of about 20kbps when uploading, And I have a iphone 5s on 4g which can pull about 12meg uploads which is more than my houses internet download speeds.

I was wondering if I could use my Netgear DG834v3 to connect to my iphone's personal hotspot rather than my iphone connecting to my routers wifi, basically reversing it? I know that you can set up the personal hotspot on my iphone so you can connect laptops etc via wireless to it, but my computer doesn't have a wireless adaptor as it is linked to my router via a cable.

so yeah, is this possible at all? :)

Thanks

A DG834 isn't going to do it.

If you have a 'cable' router and then connect something like a TP-Link TL-WR702N in client mode to the WAN port there's a chance.

As above, it wouldn't really work. You'd be better off tethering via USB to your computer.

Nothing stops you cancelling your broadband and buying a router that can access dongles then just running a 4G connection into a more modern router and distributing that through your house.

okay thanks for the replys :) I might just pick up a wireless usb receiver for my pc, not really interested in passing the signal around my house, just want it for when im uploading things like videos to youtube as my house's internet is pretty slow as I mentioned.

thanks for the advice :)
