Can I use my PC and Playstation as a Sonos?

I've got a PC in one room, and a PS3 and PS4 in another.

Playing music on one or the other is pretty easy, just stream via a media server. What I'd like to be able to do though is to set music playing on both devices in unison, like a DIY Sonos.

Is there any existing way of doing this that people know of?

The only way I can think of is to have spotify running on them and controlling it from the phone app.

That's not the same thing... Spotify will only play on a single device... not multi-room like the OP (and myself) would be interested in.

TTBOMK there's no way to sync music between just two PS consoles, let alone a PC as well. This is one of those occasions where you really need the right tool for the job, whether that's Sonos or Jongo or some other multiroom music devices.

I'm surprised there's no app for it yet... you'd think it would be rather simple with the tech that's out there at the minute... but no.

Could be a good little project, that one... only my coding skills are not up to the task.

There is one app that I've used in the past called AirFoil (https://www.rogueamoeba.com/airfoil/windows/)

Specifically I used it on my PC to steam Spotify across the entire house in unison.

Unfortunately it doesn't work with PS3/PS4.
