as per title, can i use my PC as a wireless access point?

i.e.

1. net coming into the PC through Lan
2. PC has wireless USB or PCI card
3. PC acts as access point

yay or nay? :)

and if so, how do i go about doing it?

Short Answer: Yes.

Change your network card from 'infrastructure' to 'ad-hoc' mode then configure the encrytion keys and SSID.

Do you really want to do this? Presumably you dont have the wireless card yet and an access point (or router with built in wireless) is barely any more expensive.

Yes, you can (from what I remember the MSI wireless card I have has an application you can install to use the PC as an access point)

However with the relatively low cost of a real access point I don't see any real reason
