Can I use my Windows Vista for my Dell on an old computer

I have a dell laptop purchased 12 months ago and have the included Windows Vista disk. The disk is licensed by Dell. Would I be able to use this disk on my elderly pc that I use on-line?

Not legally, unless it happens to be a retail copy and it's removed from the laptop first (but that's unlikely).

Vista and old PCs don't generally go well together anyway. Depending on how old it actually is XP will probably be a better choice.
