Bit complicated but its like this...

I have my computer in the sitting room and my BT homehub2 connects in back of it and its fine. But i want to shift my pc into another room but the hub will be to far away to be wired. So i was thinking I have an old Netgear DG834G router.. so can I just hook up the router to the pc and get it to pick up the Homehub.. and be able to browse web and normal stuff, so basicly just use it as a bridge to the hub. I hope that makes sense. I tried hooking it up but it didnt work.. there must be some settings i adjust in router config??

You need the Netgear to be able to act in "wireless client mode", which in theory should be possible.

If you stick the DGTeam firmware on it, then you could try using WDS with the "Repeater with Wireless Client Association" mode on the Netgear.

I've been trying to do the same thing but in reverse, but I think I've bricked my old home hub v1. The plan was to install the eCos Redboot Bootloader and then built openwrt for the home hub. Openwrt should allow me to do pretty much whatever I want with the hardware, including putting the device into wireless client mode.
