I recently bought an Asus Xonar DX to pair up with my new Corsair SP2500's. Everything is great but the only issue I have is that the only headset I own is a USB Siberia V2. I haven't had to use them since I got my speakers but I plan to start using them for skyping while gaming in the next couple of weeks.
My question is will they work even though my onboard sound is disabled? Could I re-activate the onboard sound without having any issues such as clashing with my soundcard?
Alternatively, I may be giving my friend the headset for their new PC so I may be in the market for a new one. Does anybody have suggestions on a nice alternative compared to my V2's? I've heard 5.1/7.1 headsets use up quite a few ports on the soundcard, will I be fine having a headset and my SP2500's plugged into my DX or will I have to keep swapping?
