Can I use VW Group G12 coolant in a Ford engine?

Hi guys

My Mrs's Focus TDDi needs the thermostat changing. I'm going to do it this week and will flush the cooland at the same time.

A friend of mine has offered me VW G12 antifreeze free of charge. Is this likely to be suitable in a fresh filling of her engines system?

If not I'll pop down motorfactors and grab whatever they recommend, it would just be nice to get the coolant for nothing

As long as you're draining the old stuff, I can see no reason why it wouldn't be ok.

VW's G12 came out when they started the wide spread use of alloy heads on iron blocks ie making modern engines

i cannot see why it cant be used and its a lot cheaper (i found) than the ford orange stuff

i cant see any reason why you cant use the VW stuff

Good stuff, looks like it's the same or similiar 'pink' type thats in there now anyhow. I'll wash it all out anyhow.

after G12 they did G12 plus and G12 PLUS PLUS.

the later ones are compatable with blue and red anti freeze so in general is "well good" as itll go in anything
