Can iPhone be used as a modem

Hello all,

Bit of a long shot, but can the iPhone be used as a modem to enable me to have Internet on my MacBook while I'm away on business in the UK?

Can I do this in reverse? IE If I have my MBP hard wired to a network could I create an Ad-hoc wi-fi connection on my MBP and then connect my iPhone to that so I get internet on my iPhone via the MBP?

Yes I can! Woot will come in handy when I only have a hardwired network and no wi-fi.

surely its terribly slow? Especially if you don't get edge coverage ie using a voda sim?
