Can't keep overclock!

I got a real frustrating problem here.
I can overclock my system to a nice stable 4.5 ghz no problems. I usually run it at 4.3 to keep things nice and easy.
Temps max out at 73c after testing (that was in the hottest ambient my room gets to)
I can run prime 95 for an hour or so no problem.
Run a few graphics benchmarks no problem
Game for a few hrs no problem.

Now where i do have a problem is randomly, if i let my pc go to sleep for any extended period of time. My overclock resets to stock when i wake my pc.
This can happen sometimes on startup too.
Its not every time its like a lottery.

Any ideas for a fix?
Is it something simple im missing?
Or is it my mobo possibly? (Z68 AP-D3)

Spec is as per my sig.

thanks for looking :(

wouldn't it be easier not to use sleep? I know its a cop out

s3 sleep resume are usually ram related as it saves sleep state to and from the memory

so could be a voltage/setting not quite right

This could be an issue. I have XMP enabled for my ram. It could well be a ram issue after reading this.
Maybe i should try stock ram settings see where i get to.
Or maybe key in the ram settings myself?
The sleep issue yeah i can work around. But it wont sort the fact that it can happen at turn on/start up though. I will inevitably have to turn off at some point.
Thanks ;)

Is stepping enabled?

Might be worth disabling it and testing.

Its already off as far as i can tell. But thanks anyway.

touch more cpu/vtt might help from stock 1.05v maybe try 1.06-1.08v

Just checked all ram settings everything seems to tally up there. All timings correct, volts etc...

CPU/vtt was at default so upped just a touch. Il report back if i get the error again.
Fingers crossed it just that simple!
