hi
ive got a mac mini g4 1.33 with 512mb ram that lying around doing nothing and was wondering if i was to connect it to my samsung 32inch 720p tv will i be able to play hd .mkv rips using vlc or is the processor too slow

just connected it and during some bits id see the scenes start playing slower and some times out of sync with audio compared to when i play them on this my main pc. now would this be due to ram or the processor

better off connecting the PC - but Mini's can be great little media boxe's - get some ram for it, it's cheap as chips these days - if it doesn't work you could always sell it :)

You really need a CoreDuo or Core2Duo mini for playing HD content. Combine that with a gig or two of RAM and OSXBMC and you're laughing; unfortunately the old G4s don't really cut the mustard.

your both right. just gonna configure media center on my pc and then connect it. gotta say that its pretty good for playing normal videos but as ive got a ps3 for that now im gonna have to find another use for it
