As the title says, I'm curious to know if that motherboard (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-190-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990) has the ability to able to boot from a Revodrive (or indeed any PCI-E based storage device).

I've checked the list of known compatible boards on OCZ's website, and it isn't there. However that doesn't mean this board can't boot from a Revodrive, only that OCZ haven't tested this board to confirm it can.

Likewise I asked on the MSI forums and the response I got was basically a *shrug* as they didn't seem to know.

I was wondering if anyone here could shed some light on the subject as to whether or not a Revodrive can be booted from on this motherboard (and as possible bonus details on how exactly one would set it up to do that ^^)

so long as it has a pci-ex x4 slot it should do....if you only have 1 gpu then you could put it in the 2nd or last slot...if sli or xfire then you need to make sure the last pci-ex slot runs at x4

I think if you sli...then it should run at x8x8x4...so should be ok.

Are you planning on running sli or xfire?

I just picked up this board and as a word of advice wait a while until the uefi is fixed, lots of strange issues with the board at the moment which I'm working through.

Whats up with the UEFI? I am very impressed with this Click BIOS II. I am using the MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3), a very similar board.

The only minor issue, I was unable to increase the CPU Multiplier & save setting - kept reverting back to x33, I fixed it by updating the bios with the release bios from the MSI website.

My motherboard is running great, no problems at all.

Apart from the annoying issue with the mouse not working properly and some occasional problems with setting the multiplier there are also boot issues with my sli setup.

Looks like the board gets confused when using sli and fails to initialise the gpu at start up. Worked around it by having to start up with the igp then resart with the gpus powered up, all very odd at the moment.

Not as is stands no. I think one 580 should do me for now, so I'll have enough suitable PCI-E slots. I'm not sure which components the board checks when it's trying to boot. I'd guess most boards would just search the SATA ports, so unless there's an option in the BIOS to get it to check PCI-E as well then I don't know if it would work.

Yeh I tried the beta bios it brings its own quirks with it so I wouldn't recommend it (though it does fix the mouse issue).

Have been playing about this morning and think I may have found my issue; looks like I may not have fully plugged in a pci-e cable...... always the little things which I miss.

Touch wood this was the issue and I'm not just having a lucky run.
