Can my motherboard provide USB power to Pi + screen?

I've got my old Raspberry Pi 2B running with a 5" screen to use as a little PC metric monitor and it works beautifully, however I'd like to try and power it through my PC USB if possible. I don't have enough darn plug sockets, and my speakers plug takes up two sockets itself...

Is it possible for the motherboard (in my case, X470 Gaming Plus) to provide enough power over USB to power the Pi and the little screen? I've not got USBC, only USB3.1, not sure what the power delivery is like on there.

If it isn't mentioned in the manual anywhere, then it's best to assume the ports can only supply the standard amount of 500mA (USB2) or 900mA (USB3), which isn't enough.

If you're not afraid of a little soldering/crimping then you could connect it straight to the PC's PSU instead. On my PC I have 5V and 12V brought out from a Molex connector to a pair of barrel connectors on the rear of the case for things like that.

That would be my recommendation as well. Just butcher up one of the molex and solder it to microusb/usbc connector/cable and that would be a better solution. You will have to find somewhere to poke the cable through the back of your case tho.

Surely there's some kind of adapter out in the world? Otherwise got any posts or good videos to cover the process? I have managed to get it plugged in with my speaker plug at the expense of my G29. Might be nice to have it separate
