Can my PSU handle 2 5870's?

I have an Enermax Modu82+ 625w PSU and I want to get either crossfire 5850's or 5870's. The 5850's use less power than my current 2 oced 4870 1gb's so I think they will be fine even when oced. But I don't know if it will be able to handle 2 5870's oced.

In my PC (as well as my sig) is 3 150gb raptors, 2 Samsung F3's, water cooling, 8 fans and 2 DVD drives.

I don't want to have to buy a new PSU just to run the 5870's over the 5850's, any advice would be great.

What wattage is your PSU?

I use crossfire 5850 & i7 @ 4ghz, my system pulls 430w from the mains at full load.

Cheers for the replies, I think ill try and get a 5870 now and another at a later date, just need to gauge how far the price is going to drop. Don't want to buy it now and see it drop £20 the following week.

625 is more than enough for what you need, i dont know about the connectors though....adapters are a dime a dozen on the bay anyway

I've tried running a GPU using a 6-8 pin adaptor and it wasn't particularly successful, I'd suggest looking at a new PSU if you can afford it especially if you're thinking about CFing in the future.

only new asus 5870 needs 1x6 1x8 pin as far as I know, normal reference or asus or xfx needs 2x6 pin but check in the description box just in case before buying obviously.
