WindowsXp 32bit, nothing wierd installed just regular DivX codecs.

If I click on an AVI/DivX file without even playing the video, I can not then delete the file & get an error saying file is write protected or in use. Sometimes I click delete & the file stays there but will not then play and after a reset the file is no longer there.

I just had to reset 3 times to deletes 2 video files in a folder, sheesh its annoying.

Anyone any ideas?

lol

I've tried removing & re-installing DivX & its the same.

I can delete a folder with videos inside if I don't click on one of the videos first, the problem seams to get worse after using Nero with the same video files and I've also tried re-installing this too.

I'm using Asus A8N onboard nVidia RAID with 2x80gig drives, if that helps.

I did have FFDshow installed but have removed this.

Not using the details tab did not change things :(

I'ts real strange how just clicking on a video file can cause a background program to use it for that windows session.
