Can Only Open iTunes As Administrator

Just done a clean install after installing a new HDD and I'm having problems with iTunes. If I try to open it straight off it just does nothing, checked task manager for processes and services but it's definitely doing nothing. It will open if ran as administrator so as a fix I've checked it in compatibility mode. It also works in XP mode but with the basic colour scheme.

I've checked Windows firewall and it has the correct permissions, I've also ran msconfig and disabled all non windows services to see if there was a conflict but it still didn't open.

Running as administrator isn't the worst thing but I would prefer if I could just get it working properly.

Are you sure you have the latest version of iTunes for your specific OS (Windows 7 im guessing)?

I downloaded the installer direct from the Apple website yesterday. And it's definitely the Win7 64 version.

I would uninstall it, redownload (unless you're on a 3G dongle or something) and try again.

Tried this, made sure everything from Apple was uninstalled and re installed but the same problem persist.

As you mentioned this was a new install I'm assuming this wont apply, but just in case you are somehow using old shortcuts

I'm pretty sure I've seen this issue before and it was because when you re-install or update Itunes the original shortcuts can become corrupt and give various errors. The itunes shortcuts tend to act unlike other shortcuts.
