can overclocking cause the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL Blue screen error?

because recently i have overclocked and added an extra gig of ram.

if its not the Overclock then its defo a problem with ram because i have uninstalled all things since the crashes started.

im running vista 64 bit with a DFI DK X38-T2R

okay - if i still get errors with new RAM out then will stop overclock with the 4 gig in then if i still ge them i will boost the NorthBridge/MCH voltage by o.1 volt.

right?

well this is the second stick of balisstiX memory i have had to send back - also i dont see those voltage settings on bios i see

DRAM voltage settings and their at like 1.925
and NB Core voltage.

i really hope this isnt a memory problem because memtest showed no errors and the ram is under a day old!

okay i have done everything you have said.

where it said DRAM speed auto.
and Target DRAM speed = ddr2 800

i changed the auto to summit like 377/277 or summit so the Target DRAM speed still = DDR2 800. Right?

i guess now i just have to wait - then if all is well i can overclock my cpu slightly?

doesnt say the MHZ just DDR2 800 but i assume thats the exact same lol

thanks Cob!

Also my cpu multiplyer keeps switching between x6 and x8 how do i change it so it doesnt change?

Right still got the bsod last night - testing with out new ram stick -

is it possible that if you installed a bad driver then uninstalled it it can still affect your pc?

all of the sticks are single sided.

all the sticks have chips only on one side - think thats what you mean.

this new ram is barley a day old and it was a replacement for one that broke before too :S

it could be something really bad i have installed on my pc too because i have removed more stuff.

i will test for a day or too with 3 gig in and then see how that goes then try with 4 and not install anything new between those times.
