Hi, at the moment i done a simple overclock on my e2180 to 2.4GHz. I'm on the stock heatsink so not going higher.

I read somwhere that overclocking may harm my graphics card? Is this true? Thanks.

If you leave the PCI frequency at auto it may increase it and damage your graphics card.
Set it to 100/101/109 (people say different things work for them) and it wont be affected.

Thanks, it is on auto. Can anyone say what they think it should be set on as a matter of opinion? I dont want it to die on me!! :p

potentially it can damage it,like any overclcoking. However if you are sensible with volts and temps then it isn't very likely.

When I overclocked my Q6600, many reviews suggested locking the frequency to 100. Everything seems fine like this .

I havent ever heard of anybody damaging their graphics card this way. But as a pre-caution I would still lock it to 100.

Set the Freq to 100, thats what i would recommend, also make sure everything is locked, ie no super overclocking tools enabled, speedstep (EIST).

ie anything that you think should be locked lock it, if you are worried ask on here.
