and become one of them? ie fly to china, find a temple shave your head and they will accept you? i was thinking of doing it for a few years to learn kung fu...

can the same be done in japan and learning the ways of the ninja in one of their temples?

Very amusing, but do they monks offer free residential kung fu classes?

I think the main issue might be the Chinese goverment comming to kick you out if your Visa expires (not the credit card kind)

My philosophy teacher keeps going on about some American guy who upped and left his wife and kids to become a Buddhist monk. I don't think it's that hard to get in but you have to be very dedicated. They take everything away from you etc... but they keep your savings in a bank account for you for about 10 years incase you change your mind.

Oh, and you probably have to take your shoes off before you walk in

As for a monk? I'm pretty sure the need to have erections is a no. As it came in the papers, a monk was meditating, and during that time, he had an erection (must be a pretty godess!), and he just got up, gave it the chop. And i'm not just talking about the forskin. I'm talking the whole whack.
