I'm on Telewest BB and share this connect between 3 PC's using a Linksys wireless router. My PC uses a cable, but my kids PC's both have Linksys wireless PCI NICs.

They were both working, but the signal strengh was poor & kept dropping, so i moved the router up to the dining room (from the cellar) to try to improve this. My son's PC is a lot better, but now my daughters PC won't connect to the network. It can see it, and i know how to configure the connection, but it just won't connect? It tried to connect for a few seconds then gives a message that the network is no longer available. But you refresh & the network is there. The network signal strength is also good.

Any ideas?

I've also unistalled/reinstalled numerous times. I've even tried seating the card in another PCI slot.

Cheers

Yes it did mate.

It's definately something odd, you can actually see the network using XP wireless configuration (not the Linksys) & it even has a good signal.

I've entered the SSID & WEP key numerous times :(

It tries to connect, but after a few seconds says Cannot connect to the network, the network is not available. So you click ok or whatever to close the box & hey presto the network is still avilable.

I've also tried using the Linksys set-up, but again it just doesn't want to connect.

I'm thinking of trying my son's NIC in there to see if it's the NIC.

I might also try changing the ID channel on the router just to see if that helps knock it out of whatever weird routine it's got itself into.

All machines are running XP SP2. The router is set the broadcast, it's using 128Bit WEP & only allowing connections if the MAC is in the list.
