Recommend me a psu, something nice and well designed. and hopefully wont blow up like my enermax one...and good for neatness in the case. No crossfire probably.

I can spend more , if it makes sense...or less!! less is good too :)

Q6600 worth upgrading to Q9550?

Is that the right choice for Asus mobo?

From waht ive read 10000 rpm drives are worth it? for main programs etc.

Oh and need some CPU cooler recommendations....or water cooling? not sure what the difference in cost would be between a basic water cooling system and a decent cpu fan?

I wouldnt bother with the raptor, the f1 is fast enough. You dont need 8500 ram with the q6600, get a decent set of 6400 instead.

As for psu i recommened a crosair hx620w, i have one of them running a similar spec to yours.

As said above don't bother with the Raptor drive, use the Samsung as it is a very fast drive. Plus it's silent compared to the racket the raptors make, also any reason your going for the Deluxe version of the Asus? the P5Q-E would be a better choice allowing you to save some money.

hmm, just read a lot and deluxe seemed more popular...

as for drives. is it worth still have 2 disks? one for junk and one for os and main stuff? or just put everything on the one drive?

Raptors arent that fast i have my os on 1 and no real performance increase in fact prolly a little slower than some of the top of the range 7200 rpm models. Access times are marginally faster but read and write is at least matched by less expensive drives

thanks for replys...saves me some good money on the hard disk...

what about the processors how much better is the q9550 over the q6600? given its about £100 more.

Also can i ask why the faster ram is no good with p45 boards?

And still need to pick a nice cooler or water cooling..
Trying to decide wether to get a new case which kinda depends on the cost effectiveness of water cooling, tempted by a cosmos 1000, (dont like the antecs or akasas) or i may use my current cm atsc one...
