I think it is more to do with not knowing how to caluculate it ! Surely anything capable of making a post will have a calculater function.

I've just worked it out on paper in about 5 seconds !

I didn't even know it was there.....

Didn't know if there was a global shortcut or whatever in windows if thats what you mean, I just have a little button saying "calculator" under it lol

Some people strange as it may seem can't work this sort of thing out without help (I'm not being rude or taking the pee btw). My work colleague ask's me all the time to calculate %ages for him and check stuff - he's not stupid etc just doesn't seem to 'get it'.

Answer =

20-11 = 9
9 / 11 = 0.8181818181
* 100 = %age

1 / 11 = 0.090909090909090909090909090909091
0.090909090909090909090909090909091 * 20 = 1.8181818181818181818181818181818 = 81.8%

Nah, your ways are feeble!

100 / 11 x 20 = 181.818182% so it's 81.81 blah blah % more than the original

edit - damn needless brackets!

Even then, this is the era of internet. ;)

EDIT: Technically if you look at the formula that it has produced the correct answer is a bit of a fluke and comes from the 11 being treated as a percentage, i.e. /100. This has the effect of producing the same ratio as would be had if you divided 9 by 11 and then multiplied the result by 100. This is all beside the point, which was that a calculator is never far away if you’re connected to the internet.

(100 / 11) * 20 = 181.818182...

My PC at work doesn't have a calculator, it's running XP and I've no idea why it doesn't have it.
