Our phone and connection has been playing up, can someone check these stats for me:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 8128 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 21 db 5.5 db
Noise Margin 9 db 29 db

Define 'playing up'.

Those stats are about as good as it gets. Below 6dB SNR is where the problems usually begin, and at 9dB you're double that (log scale and all that...)

This said, 9dB isn't *that* high - if it's dropping, then something's causing it to get suddenly worse. Try the master socket (unplugging extensions) to check internal wiring... and check you have decent filters.

Checked all the above last thing to do is check all the internal wiring...

it drops out as the phone rings..all filters are new, tried unplugging all phones and leaving the filters in, switching filters etc...

I get that problem sometimes with my ADSL but i put that down to being a bit rural - our village got broadband about 2-3 years ago and the line is affected by the weather. :o

How did you manage to gain access to those statistics? What tool do i need? Website?

If you've checked all your kit and it's still happening, the only option is to get your ISP to process it as a fault.

Your modem or whatever will give them.
