Hi

Firstly I know absolutely nothing about gaming PC's. My nearly 13 year old son had asked for one for his birthday. He will mostly used it for Minecraft java with mods and possibly Fortnite, although I suspect he will progress to other games too.

He had been playing with specs on fierce pc and had come up with this, can someone tell me if this is okay please?

CTI raider RGB tempered glass mid tower gaming case
AMD ryzen 3 2300x 3.5ghz (4ghz turbo) quad core processor
Cooler master hyper TX3 evotower pc cooler
Nvidia geforce gtx 1050 To 4gb graphics card
16gb Corsair vengeance RGB pro 3000mhz ddr4 memory (2x 8gb)
250gb Seagate Barracuda 510 m.2 SSD
1tb Seagate Barracuda harddrive
MSI A320M-A pro max motherboard
Aerofoil integrator 700w 80+ power supply
300mps TP Link WiFi card
Windows 10 home

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your help. That one with 22" monitor, keyboard mouse and headset can in around £950.00

That's really about the limit of the budget at the moment. Headset not needed as he had those for Xbox, but keyboard, mouse and monitor would be needed.

Thank you for taking the time to look for me.

I presume this is a better stop than he chose? Silly question now, does that come built, ready to plug and play?

This would give you a far more powerful computer. It would have to be put together but I could find a prebuilt alternative if building isn't an option.

Having windows preinstalled is about £100 extra or you can find a cheap license and install yourself (very straightforward) for significantly less

I wouldn't know where to start putting it together, so I think a prebuilt option might be better. Thank you again for finding me a better option, your advice is greatly appreciated.

I'm a web designer so I can handle installing windows.

This gives you a prebuilt with the same cpu/gpu as I suggested but with a slight downgrade on the monitor to stay within budget (60hz refresh rate instead of 144). Would recommend picking up a Logitech g203 as a decent but good value gaming mouse - currently out of stock at overclockers.

Thank you very much, I'm off to look at that now.

Gaming is obviously expensive, that budget would but me a great desktop for work but it seems a small budget for gaming.
